AirChat – a new social platform by Naval + team – launched today on the Appstore, and I wanted to let you know. It’s a pretty unique opportunity to be amongst the first users on a new platform and it certainly gives the chance to have access to generally-off-limits people (like getting followed by Naval) and to build an early following to what could be an influential platform.
Plus, it’s fun. I’ve been playing around all day with it and am really impressed.
You can check out their Twitter: https://twitter.com/getairchat
And you can find it in the Appstore. However, to join, you have to be invited by phone number. I’d be happy to invite you – just leave a comment on this post and/or reply and I’ll get your phone number and then add you.
I have no affiliation with Airchat and this post is not sponsored. Just thought I’d give you a heads up about an early cool platform that came across my radar.
What Is Airchat?
Briefly, Airchat allows for spoken conversations between people. It’s similar to Twitter in that way, except that every “tweet” has to be audio recorded. A transcript is automatically written, but to tweet you have to speak.
You can either listen to or read each message. And you can also choose which message in a conversation you respond to. The design is very simple, and you’ll see the ability to toggle between “video” and “audio” when replying to people. You’ll also notice that the avatar changes to indicate who exactly you’re responding to.
Put simply, the is a platform for having one-on-one conversations with people. Scrolling the app and actually hearing people’s voices, it really feels like you’re stepping into the room with them as they converse.
Because it’s focused on voice, there is no way to edit the transcript. This is a bit annoying when it mispells a word you spoke, but in general, it’s pretty accurate. It also totally takes the headache and overthinking of trying to craft every individual word perfectly. It’s much more human imo.
Ultimately, I’m still playing around with it. I’d love to hear you think as well.
